Frequently asked questions

Most of our brides begin wedding dress shopping 1 year ahead of the wedding date.

When you order your gown, we have it tailored to your exact measurements before it ships—requiring from five to six months to arrive at our store. We recommend you schedule your appointment at least nine months to one year prior to your big day to allow for shipping, alterations … and of course, decision making!

That allows you enough time to narrow down your selection and order the dress of your dreams. Don’t let the time bracket worry you because even if you do not have that much time there are a few different ways that Bellissima Bridal Designs can accommodate you. All our dresses are ready to sell off the rack.

Bellissima Bridal Designs requires at least 60% deposit of total purchase to make a special-order dress. Your remaining balance is due by the time the dress arrives in the store. If you’re shipping your dress out of state, the balance must be paid in full before we ship the dress. The purchase of any wedding or evening dress that is in a reduce price must be paid in full. These dresses on sale are final sale and must be taken home the same day and brought back for alterations. If the wedding is soon, you can leave the dress for alterations the same day. Your professional bridal consultant will help you.

The price of the wedding dress or evening dress does not include any changes like specialty cut or any modification you want to add to the dress. Other charges like shipping, rush fees, alterations or any other extra services are not included. Alterations charge depends of the style of the dress, fabric, details, and work needed to fit your dress accurate to your body.

Veils and headpiece order can take from one to three months if we do not have them in stock. Some special veils with lace or beading on it can take until 3 months to order. We do not recommend waiting for your fitting to order the veil and headpieces. If you bought your dress with us, you can try on headpieces and veils at the moment you “say yes to the dress” so we order all at ones and have everything ready for your first fitting.

For the fitting, you need to bring your shoes and the undergarments that you will be wearing on your wedding day so your fitter can take the hemline and fit the bodice of your gown to your body as you will be wearing on your wedding day.

Yes, we do. However, the dress must not have been altered before. The fitter will tell you if the work can be done or not. Alteration charge has to be paid in full before we start working in the gown.
